End User License Agreement
Last updated June 28, 2026 · Obsidian Research Group
This End User License Agreement (“EULA”) is between you and Obsidian Research Group (“Obsidian”) and governs your installation and use of the Obsidian Lattice software application (the “Software”). By installing or using the Software you accept this EULA. It supplements our Terms of Service.
1. License grant
Subject to your compliance with this EULA and an active subscription (or trial), Obsidian grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software on Macs you own or control, up to the device limit associated with your subscription (currently two), for your own internal use.
2. Restrictions
You may not:
- copy, distribute, sublicense, rent, lease, lend, or sell the Software;
- modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the Software;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law;
- remove or alter any proprietary notices, or circumvent licensing, activation, device limits, or security mechanisms;
- share, copy, or transfer your license or activation to evade the device limit.
3. Activation & validation
The Software is licensed, not sold. It binds activation to your device and may validate your subscription with our servers periodically when online. If your subscription lapses, is cancelled, or your device is deauthorized, your license to use the Software ends and access may be locked, though your files and on-device index remain on your Mac.
4. Ownership
Obsidian and its licensors own all right, title, and interest in the Software, including all intellectual property rights. This EULA grants you no rights other than the limited license above.
5. Third-party & open-source components
The Software includes third-party and open-source components that are subject to their own licenses; those licenses govern your use of those components and, where they conflict with this EULA for those components, control.
6. Updates
Obsidian may provide updates, which are covered by this EULA unless accompanied by separate terms. We may add, change, or discontinue features.
7. Disclaimer & liability
The Software is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law, and Obsidian’s liability is limited as set out in the Terms of Service. Nothing limits rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other non-excludable protections.
8. Termination
This EULA is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically if you breach it or your license/subscription ends. On termination you must stop using and uninstall the Software.
9. Governing law
This EULA is governed by the laws of Australia.
